Happy Little Sunbeams
Supporting Every Child's Development
The Early Years Foundation Stage is the system used in the UK to support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children from birth to age five. It sets out what children should learn and the types of activities that help them grow. Here at Happy Little Sunbeams, this is based around play, spontaneous learning and mixture of child and adult led activities and learning.
Our curriculum is centred around the individual child. Keyworkers complete planning bi weekly around each of their individual children, they include their unique development needs set out in accordance to the development matters alongside their interests and any additional interventions required.
Through the two weeks, learning is modelled by the key person and opportunities for the child to put this into practice is given to allow children to thrive and become active, independent learners.
Alongside tailoring to individual needs, Happy Little Sunbeams have a wide range of teaching methods to provide holistic learning. These teaching methods include:-
Dough Disco, Youtube videos dedicated to special, popular songs, which have specific movements to promote fine motor skills in preparation for early writing.
Neli Programme-A 20 week programme to support early literacy, using book of the week and special words. This is a targeted three step approach
The intergenerational project- A programme to create bonds and bridge the isolation gap between the older generation and younger generation.
About Us
What We Can Offer...
We can provide a home from home experience for your child within our setting, the Nursery is based on Park Road North – off Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough.
We want to continue with what your child has learned from you as parent(s) know and to support any child or parent coming through our door and for them to feel part of the Happy Little Sunbeams family as many children have for many years previous. We have had some wonderful feedback from parents/carers on the progress their child has made since commencing the Nursery. We will do our very best to ensure that your child feels comfortable, safe and achieves the best they possibly can during their stay with us.
